   • Maintaining the dive log
   • Ensuring divers are ready to dive at the appropriate times
   • Monitoring divers' anticipated surfacing times
   • Ensuring an adequate surface cover at all times
   • Recording post-dive information, including any specific training activities carried out
   • Providing an adequate hand-over to a temporary substitute (agreed with the Dive Manager) so that they get an opportunity to dive themselves
