  7. Rescue - from 6m
    • Mini CBL
    • Complete rescue sequence
      • CBL
      • Secure casualty at surface
      • RB static for 1 minute
      • Tow for 25m
      • Remove equipment
      • Land casualty
      • Recovery position

SO2 - Use of Surface Marker Buoy (SMB)

  3. Kit up and buddy check
  4. Entry
  5. SMB use during exploratory dive to 15 - 20m
    • Descent
    • During dive
    • Monitor overhead for potential snag hazards
    • Use of buoy line as a buddy line
    • Vertical ascent

SO3 - Simulated decompression dive

  5. Entry into deep water
  6. Descent down shot line
  7. Exploratory dive using distance line
    • Securing line to shot weight
    • Outbound swim
    • Securing line at turning points
    • Time/ depth/gas management
    • Inbound swim
    • Prepare for ascent
  8. Ascent up shot line to 6m
  9. Simulated decompression stop for 3 mins.
  10. Ascent to surface
  11. Exit from deep water

SO4 - Compass navigation/DSMB deployment

  2. Dry practice of compass use
    • Setting a bearing
    • Following a bearing
    • Estimating and controlling distance
    • Setting and following a reciprocal bearing
  3. Dry practice of DSMB use
  4. Kit up and buddy check
  5. Entry
  6. Compass use on surface
    • Setting and following a bearing
    • Estimating and controlling distance
    • Setting and following a reciprocal bearing
  7. Compass use underwater (2-6m)
    • Swim to destination object and return
    • Out and back swims
  8. Exploratory dive to a maximum of 20m, ending in approximately 10m
  9. DSMB deployment from bottom - 10m depth
    • Initial inflation
    • Main inflation and deployment
    • Ascent reeling in line
    • Practice decompression stop at 6m for 1 min
  10. Exit
  11. REAP debrief

SO5 - Dive leading/Basic skills review
