Experience Snorkelling Taster Session
Fancy learning to snorkel but not sure what to expect?
If you've never snorkelled before then an experience snorkelling session is a great place to start. It will allow you to see if you would like to take part in a full snorkelling course.
An experience snorkel session (also called a try snorkel) typically consists of a half hour briefing followed by an hour snorkelling in the swimming pool under full instruction and guidance from one of our experienced and friendly CRB cleared snorkel instructors.
After the pool sessions we often frequent a local watering hole, why not come along to discuss the highlights of your session and learn more about who we are?
When and where can I try snorkelling?
What do I need to bring?
All you need to bring is yourself, swim wear, a towel and optionally a t-shirt to wear in the water. All other equipment is provided by us.
If you own a mask, fins or snorkel that you are already comfortable with or would prefer to use then feel free to bring them along too.
Lockers at the leisure centre require a £1 coin to operate, this is returned to you when the locker is re-opened.
What does it cost?
We ask for a contribution towards our costs of £5 (adults) or £4 (juniors) for the session. This all goes towards maintaining the club snorkelling kit, hiring the pool and generally keeping the club going - the instructors all give up their time for free.
Are there any restrictions?
Experience snorkelling taster sessions are available to anyone over the age of 8 years. Under 18s will need a parent or guardian to be present at the pool throughout the session.
Can I buy an experience snorkel session as a gift?
For £10 we offer a gift pack that also includes a certificate and digital copies of any photos taken during the taster session.
